Important Update: MATIC to POL Transition on the Polygon Network

We’re excited to inform our users that on September 4th, 2024, at 12:00 PM UTC, CryptAPI will be updating the ticker for MATIC in response to the ongoing migration to POL. This update affects only the Polygon network and aligns with the latest developments in the Polygon ecosystem.

What’s Changing?

The Polygon network is undergoing a significant upgrade, transitioning from MATIC to POL. POL will replace MATIC as the native gas and staking token within the Polygon PoS network. This transition marks the beginning of POL’s expanded role within the ecosystem, including its future importance in the AggLayer.

Impact on Your Operations

From 12:00 PM UTC on September 4th, all MATIC-related activities within the CryptAPI system will transition to POL. Specifically:

• Transactions previously handled using MATIC on the Polygon network will now use POL.
• All API interactions and future transactions on the Polygon network through CryptAPI will utilize the POL ticker.

Action Required for Merchants Using MATIC on Polygon

If your business currently accepts MATIC payments through CryptAPI on the Polygon network, it is essential that you update your API requests to replace MATIC with POL. Failure to do so will result in the inability to process payments using the MATIC ticker after the transition.

We strongly recommend completing this update as soon as possible to ensure uninterrupted service.

If you’re not accepting MATIC payments on the Polygon network, no changes are necessary on your end.
